May I Have Your Attention Please?
You should currently be reading The Diary of Miss Jane Pittman. For this book, we are going to meet and have a book talk about halfway through with some parent volunteers and possibly Mr. Anderson. The block of reading time allotted for this book is April 30 to June 3. Therefore, sometime during the week of May 16, we will meet and talk about what we've read in the book up to that point. Tentatively, this will take place on Tuesday, May 17, and will last for one class period. I will update this blog with the exact date when it's been confirmed.

So, before the time of our book talk, all of you must read through page 125 of The Diary of Miss Jane Pittman. If you haven't started reading it, now would be the time. For those who actively participate in the discussion about the book during our book talk, I will count your participation that day as blog entries, meaning you won't have to do the required 5 blogs. Depending on your participation, the book talk may count as 1 or 2 (possibly 3) blog entries. If you don't participate in discussing the book, or it's obvious that you haven't read the book, you won't get this benefit and will be required to do all 5 blog entries.

Lastly, there will be a final essay due on June 7th. More information about this essay will be posted soon.

UPDATE: I just checked the AR Test scores and it appears that only 7 people have taken the AR Test for The Call of the Wild. Please take it if you haven't already.

Also, please let others know to check my blog. I'm guessing some of you check it regularly, some don't, so if you read this, let other 8th grade honors students know about it. Thanks.
